Voice Festival UK, Scottish Regionals

This Saturday, St Andrews hosted one of the main Scottish A Capella events of the year – the Scottish Regionals of the Voice Festival UK. Six a capella groups from universities across Scotland competed for a place in the UK finals in London next week.
The contestants included the Accidentals (from St Andrews), the Alleycats (St Andrews), Choral Stimulation (Glasgow), the Hummingbirds (St Andrews), Aberpella (Aberdeen) and the Other Guys (St Andrews). Apart from their 12 minute set, all the groups also performed a song they created during the workshop that preceded the competition. All of the performances were excellent, but in the end, the judges decided that the Other Guys (of the Royal Romance fame) should represent Scotland in the finals.
Blind Mirth, an improvisation comedy group from St Andrews hosted the event and provided entertainment, while the judges were deciding the winners.

And last but not least, thank you Andrew Adam for asking me to photograph the event.
